Clark Color Guard/Winter Guard |
Background
The Clark High School Color Guard/Winter Guard, known as the
“Quintessence,” is an auxiliary performing unit of the Clark
Cougar Band program. The Guard performs field shows with the
Cougar Marching Band during football marching season, and
then follows with its Winter Guard season in which the group
competes against other guard units in a stage show setting.
Eligibility
The Color Guard/Winter
Guard program is open to all Clark High School students; it
is not necessary to be a member of the band to participate.
Students may elect to participate in either one or both
semesters.
Academic
Credit
The football marching season counts as ˝ PE credit for the
first semester of the school year, and the Winter Guard
season counts as ˝ Fine Arts credit for the second semester.
Leadership
Mr. Jair Klarfeld,
associate band director, oversees the Guard program as
administrative sponsor.

Mr. Ashley Thornton directs the Guard as the group’s
designer, choreographer and instructor.
Mrs. Dagne Fisher serves as the Guard representative
on the Clark Band Boosters Executive Board.
