Working Northside Concessions
for the Cougar Band
Working concessions during the
school year is a great way to get involved with the Cougar Band
program, meet other parents and students, and help keep the
Clark Cougar Band the best it can be!
Why
concessions?
Working Northside Concessions is just one of the ways the Cougar
Band raises money.
All the Booster organizations in the Northside School District
share the responsibility of staffing the concession stands at
the many sporting events the district sponsors throughout the
year. From each high school in the district, both the Band Boosters and Athletic Boosters
organizations participate and share the profits from concessions
sales.
Each student and family member who works concessions earns $4.00
per hour that is credited to that student’s Band Bucks account.
Which events are the Clark Band
Boosters required to staff?
NISD
determines which events each high school is required to provide
concession workers for, and we are never asked to staff
concession stands for events where our own sports teams are
playing. We work concessions only for events in which other high
school teams, not Clark's, are competing.
How
often and how many volunteers are needed?
Since all the NISD high schools participate, we generally have
two or three events per month for which Clark Band Boosters need
to provide workers. For
football games, we need as many as 26 volunteers for the
evening. For most other sports, we need only three at a time.
There are plenty of opportunities for all
band families to help out. See the
Concessions Volunteers Needed page for specific
events.
Am I
required to help with concessions?
We hope you
want to! Our goal this year is to have as many band
families - parents and students - participate in our concession
program as possible, so that we are not turning to the same few
families for all of our concession obligations. Remember, it's
an easy way for you and your family to earn funds for your
student's Band Bucks account, and that means less money out of
your pocket to meet the Band Bucks obligation.
Who can work concessions?
Band students and their parents and other family members who are
at least 14 years old can work concessions. Those 18 and older may also handle money.
What can
I expect when I work concessions?
When you
arrive to help, someone will be there to help you set up and
tell you what is being sold, what the prices are, where to find
supplies, and how to prepare food items. The menus are fairly simple,
and the prices are too. You will sign in when you arrive and
sign out when your shift is finished. The process is simple. As
a bonus, can have all the soda you want while
you're working, but you must bring your own cup.
How do I sign up?
You'll have opportunities to sign up at the courtyard concert,
monthly booster meetings and other band events.
Or you can contact

or 389-4663, or
