Scrip
Fundraising Program |
Scrip is the easiest way
to raise funds for your student's individual Band Bucks account!
What is Scrip?
Scrip is a type of gift
certificate and gift card offered through the
Great
Lakes Scrip Center
as a fundraising opportunity for nonprofit organizations. The GLSC
purchases Scrip at discount rates from grocery chains, restaurants,
and retail, drug, department and specialty outlets all over the
United States. Participating nonprofit organizations, in turn, may
resell the Scrip at face value, and the NSC passes on a percentage
of their discount to the organization.
What makes
Scrip an easy way to raise funds?
Scrip is an easy way to raise funds
because, ultimately, it costs you nothing more than you would
already spend in your community on groceries, clothing,
restaurant dining, books, movie rentals, gasoline, automotive
services, home improvement supplies, etc. Spending this money
with your favorite merchants through the Scrip program,
however, allows the merchants to support our Band/Guard program.
To raise even more funds for your
student's account, you may want to persuade a group of family
members and friends to order Scrip from your student on a
regular basis. Most Scrip can be used for the purchase of any
merchandise at the selected merchant, and they make great
holiday and birthday gifts, too!
How can the
Scrip program help my student and me?
With the Clark Cougar Band/Guard, the
money earned from Scrip sold is credited directly to the
accounts of the individual students who sold the
certificates/cards.
The denominations available vary by
merchant, as do the percentages of the face value that can be
earned with each purchase.

and full payment (checks made payable to Clark Band Boosters) in an
envelope labeled with your student's name and "Scrip," and drop
it in
the Band Booster box in the band hall office. Orders must be placed
in the Band Booster box no later than 2 p.m. on the due date.
In June, July and August,
orders and payments must be received by Cecilia Buechner by 7 p.m.
on the due date. Deliver in person or mail your orders to:
Cecilia Buechner
4007 Dunmore Dr.
San Antonio, TX 78230
Orders received after the due date
and/or time will be placed with the following month's
order.
How long will it take to
receive my Scrip order?
Scrip orders usually arrive three to
four business days after the order date. When they arrive, you will be
contacted to arrange for pick up. Due to the risk of loss or
theft with cards and certificates of cash value, we will not
send Scrip home with students.
