Charles Kuentz is currently in his 21st year as Band Director at Tom C. Clark High School. Before coming to Clark, Mr. Kuentz was Director of Bands and Music Supervisor for the East Centeral Independent School District.  Mr. Kuentz began his teaching career 29 years ago as the Assistant Band Director at Roosevelt High School in San Antonio.  He holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Houston where he was a member of the University Wind Ensemble under the musical direction of Mr. Eddie Green.  He also studied trombone under Mr. Albert Lube who performed under great orchestral conductors such as Arturo Toscanini.  Mr. Kuentz holds a Master of Music Education from the University of Texas at San Antonio where he studied conducting with Dr. Robert Rustowicz.  He is an active clinician and adjudicator throughout the south Texas region.     

He has been married to Sue Kuentz for 30 years, and they have 2 sons. Philip, age 23, has just graduated from the Cockrell School of Engineering at the University of Texas, and Chase, age 17, is a 12th grade trombone player and drum major in the Smithson Valley High School marching band.
