UIL Texas State Solo & Ensemble Contest

The UIL Texas State Solo & Ensemble Contest will be held Saturday, May 27 and Monday, May 29, 2006 at the University of Texas in Austin.

At the state contest, medals are awarded for both 1st and 2nd Division ratings.

Who's eligible?

Students who achieved one or more of the following at the Regional Solo & Ensemble Contest on February 23 at Clark are eligible to perform at the UIL Texas State Solo & Ensemble Contest:

• A 1st Division rating on a Class I solo played from memory.
• A 1st Division rating for a Class I ensemble (memorization not required).

Registration and Fees

All State Solo & Ensemble entries must be registered online by one of the Clark Band directors. The deadline for registration is April 3.

Eligible students who plan to participate in the state contest must notify Mr. Kuentz or Mr. Telles of their intent to participate, and bring a check for the appropriate fee before the deadline. 

Fees are $15 for a solo and $7.50 for each member of an ensemble. Please make checks payable to TSSEC.

Students will be informed of their assigned performance date, time and room closer to the event.

Transportation

Students are responsible for securing their own transportation to the contest.
