If you’re really looking to get involved with your student’s band experience there probably is no better way than by joining the Pit Crew!

What is the Pit Crew?

The Pit Crew is the supporting cast of parents helping to bring every marching show to life. Parents travel with the band backstage at all events helping to set up props and move them into place for the shows. It’s a physically demanding job but it’s also one of the most rewarding experiences you’ll have during your student’s time in band. And your student will love seeing you in action (even though they won’t admit it)!

Requirements for Pit Crew

• Ability to lift and carry
• Time to attend most, if not all, events during marching season
• A love of barbecue and burgers
• Some of your own gear: camp chairs, coolers, etc
